- Affordance: it is a relationship, ex. Affordance of touching exists on the entire screen
- Signifier: designer put a circle on screen to signify user where to touch
- Affordance determine what actions are possible. Signifiers communicate where the action should take place.
- Signifiers refers to any mark or sound, any perceivable indicator that communicates appropriate behavior to a person
- Ex. PUSH on a door
